Testimonials
"After struggling for a long time to find support, Violeta gave me unwavering support and encouragement throughout my journey. This came as a relief and was exactly what I needed to find my feet and feel more grounded. Over the next few years and many ups and downs Violeta guided our work together and I developed an array of coping skills and learnt to manage various emotional difficulties that had for a long time had me at their grips. I also learnt about myself and my illness, and through that self-awareness I feel much more in control and capable of coping with distress.
Violeta’s skill and expertise have been crucial in our work but also communicating with my family and liaising with other professionals to make sure I was getting adequate care. I have found my experience with Violeta to be invaluable and I feel privileged to have been able to build a strong therapeutic relationship with someone so understanding of me.
Having the time to speak to someone who openly listens and is enthusiastic in every way for your best interests, gave me more strength to fight my battle with my illness."
Individual Therapy Client, 22, struggling with anorexia nervosa
“We were seen by Violeta at the Royal Free Hospital London when our twelve-year-old daughter was diagnosed with anorexia. We were traumatised and terrified as the illness seemed to have come on so quickly and unexpectedly. The day-to-day was very hard to cope with as some of the behaviours brought on by the eating disorder were extreme and the future seemed bleak and uncertain. Violeta’s warmth, kindness and good humour immediately put us at our ease, offering us support and hope. She identified that for us the most effective way of working would be to work directly with us as parents and immediately worked through practical strategies to help us feel more confident and, most importantly, to understand the nature of this complex illness. She listens with great empathy as well as bringing her extensive experience and wisdom to each session. As our daughter made progress Violeta helped us change how we related to her so we were able to let go of our fear and enable her to take steps towards independence, as well as supporting us navigate our own relationship during such a challenging time. We will be forever grateful to Violeta and feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with her. It is hard to imagine how our daughter could have made such progress and how we could have managed the experience without her incredible input and support”

"After a few false starts with therapists and feeling like I was never going to be able to move forward in my life, I was very sceptical about trying therapy again but i'm so glad I did. Violeta was so easy to talk too and understood my difficulties better than I could sometimes explain. She helped me to understand where some of my problems had come from and gave me practical strategies to help me manage the negative and self defeating thinking that had gripped me for so long. She is patient, compassionate whilst also being constructively challenging when needed. I have definitely grown as a person since seeing her, I feel happier, more confident and at peace with myself. Thank you!"
Individual Therapy Client, Adult
"We saw Violeta at the Royal Free Hospital over several years with family therapy to support my daughter’s eating disorder. My daughter has controlled/limited her food intake from the age of 9. Violeta helped us to understand and explore the key areas of my daughter’s eating issues. Due to my daughters young age, Violeta’s approach was often to manage day to day issues and provide practical solutions to help support regular and sufficient food intake. However, exploring the underlying issues helped me to better support my daughter and, more importantly, laid the foundations for my daughter to understand and tackle these issues with individual therapy now that she is older. We always felt supported, cared for, guided and sponsored toward improvement throughout our time with Violeta"

"Violeta helped me when I was young and I didn’t understand very well what was happening. She helped me to understand and feel more comfortable expressing and unraveling my emotions. She also helped me to gain the confidence to speak up to my dad for the first time. Violeta has a very kind approach but doesn’t shy away from dealing with difficult topics"
