"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.” C.S. Lewis

I appreciate that you are reaching out because although things have been difficult for a while, you have just made the decision that it is time for a change. It can’t go on like this and you would like to (re)discover the joy in your life and your love for others.

I will work with you using my skills and experiences to assist you developing new strategies to effectively cope with what is happening, and to find connection in your relationships.

My Therapeutic Frameworks

I use a range of therapeutic modalities help my clients balance body, mind and heart:

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (EFT)

  • Solution-Focused Therapy

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

  • Systemic Approaches

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Socio-Constructionist Approaches

  • Non-Violent Communication (NVC)

  • Temperament Based Treatment with Support for Anorexia Nervosa (TBT-S)

I am a registered member of the Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice (AFT-UK), and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) as well as the International Family Therapy Association (IFTA). I adhere, at all times, to their standards and ethical guidelines, including a requirement to comply with Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in order to renew their annual memberships.

About your Sessions

Sessions are generally 55 minutes long, although longer sessions can be arranged on request.

We will discuss frequency in our first meeting, but as circumstances change and progress is made, we will make changes accordingly.

How often you attend therapy is ultimately up to you. Some people find they need weekly or fortnightly support, especially at the start of therapy; others attend less frequently. You can also choose to have “top up” sessions, at difficult times when you feel you need the extra support. The latter option is recommended for clients who have worked with me previously, and I am familiar with their context.

I offer both face-to-face work from Cambridge, New Zealand, and Online Therapy.

Online Therapy

Online therapy happens through live video conferencing.
There are many reasons why people choose to have online therapy:

  • It allows clients in different cities or countries access a practitioner that is right for them;

  • It enables clients to consistently attend appointments even when unable to travel

  • It works well for people who struggle with the intensity of face-to-face appointments.

This can be done anywhere you have a computer or smartphone. While you don’t need a video camera, I do recommend you use one.
